2026 – Abigail Fowers – Davinci Academy HS

Back in July of 2025 we lost my grandpa Larry we called him papa and he was 72 he took a bad fall in the shower and got 3rd degree scaled burns on his back legs and arm they tried skin graph surgery but it didn’t take and his kidneys were taking hit after hit and they were starting to fail so we made the decision to put him on hospice and on July 1st heat 8:15 am we got the call that he was gone it was one of the worst days of my life watching my mom sob her heart out because her dad was gone late that night I sobbed and begged god to give him back even tho I knew it wouldn’t happen and that he was gone I made a promise to my best friend Izzy that I wouldn’t relapse into self harm again but sadly shortly before Christmas I did end up relapsing because I was at such a low point that I didn’t see a point in going on but I knew that I needed to be strong for my self and my family so I got the help I needed and I’m doing a lot better now even tho I still miss my grandpa so so much
